You’ve never done anything like this before. You’re standing atop the 16th deck of the world’s largest cruise ship staring down a thin cable that stretches out before you for what seems like miles. A quick glance over the edge down nine stories to the ground floor causes your grip to tighten and suddenly rethink the decision to harness yourself to this zip line.
The cheers begin to build from the crowd of spectators though and a surge of courage renews the spirit of adventure in you. As the countdown begins your heart starts racing – “One…two…” – there’s no going back now – “THREE!”
You push off from the deck, let out a yell, and fly through the ocean air. This is a moment you’re never going to forget on this remarkable cruise.
The zip line is just part of the excitement and adventure that can be found at Allure of the Seas’ Pool & Sports Zone. This action-packed neighborhood features multiple athletic courts for basketball, soccer, volleyball, and ping pong, plus miniature golf.
When cruising the high seas though, what could be better than riding the waves themselves? For those looking to hang 10, the Pool & Sports Zone features two FlowRider machines –exhilarating wave simulators that must be seen to be believed. The aptly named Wipe Out Café sits nearby, offering fuel for thrill-seekers as well as a live television feed of all the surfing success and, of course, wipe outs.
If these extreme sports aren’t your style or you just need a break from the action, Allure of the Seas features four pool areas. While the kids are having fun at the H20 Zone, you can wade into the sloped Beach Pool, swim laps at the Sports Pool, or lounge by the traditional Main Pool.
The adults-only Solarium is an excellent place to soak up the sun too, with uninterrupted peace and quiet and a bistro close by that features an array of healthy entrées. With amazing views of the Central Park and Boardwalk neighborhoods and a stunning panoramic of the Caribbean Sea, the Pool & Sports Zone is sure to be one of your favorite spots on the ship.
